Our Purpose
The Southern Appalachia Regional Wind Energy Institute (RWEI) was
created in 2007 as a means to bring together state Wind Working Group
leaders from throughout the region and provide educational trainings on
how to effectively communicate the wind energy message to their states.
The RWEI brings in national wind energy experts to
help support the education and training of state wind working leaders
and their state wind outreach teams on topics relevant to issues they
are facing in their state. The trainings are typically conducted
through quarterly webcasts and annual meetings. To view presentations
from past events, please visit the webcasts and annual meetings pages
of our website.
Who We Are
Individuals participating in RWEI trainings include
representatives from state energy offices, non-profits, utilities, wind
developers, universities and other various stakeholders.
The RWEI is facilitated by the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and is funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission.
